Rüdlingen – Schaffhausen

29. December 2018 | categories: Hiking

The calendar page shows 3 June 2018, the alarm clock rings me out of bed. I take a suburban train to Rafz and there the post bus to Rüdlingen. Today’s destination: Schaffhausen.

In Rüdlingen I make my way up the Rhine. After a short time the way leads over German soil. Shortly before Rheinau the way goes back to Switzerland.

As soon as you’re back in Switzerland, the legendary Rhine Falls are coming. After the Rhine Falls you walk through Neuhausen and reach Schaffhausen after a total of 20 kilometers.

In Schaffhausen it is worth making a detour to the Munot. Admission is free and you are rewarded with a magnificent view.

Tip: If you don’t want to hike that far, you can take the train to the Rhine Falls and walk from there to Schaffhausen.
